Just bought an 89 YJ, Seller replaced the steering column. He said it was a newer YJ column and and that some pin was inverted in a harness and was plugged upside down. Long story short, to start the jeep you have to press the key release, and rotate the key backwards and it will start. The issue is, I cant get the key out. Before I tear it apart trying to figure it out, does anyone know of a possible solution?

Will it come out on an intermediate position? Try at every possible position of the key. Pull the starter relay or fuse if applicable to test the starting position.

Tried every position, including the starter pull. I belive it may be misaligned somehow, or the fact that you have to engage the release to start it, may be part of the issue
