Has anyone replaced the wiring harness on an 88 with 4.2L or similar?
My engine is in but the old wiring is screwed.
I am running twin Carter carbs, no fuel injection.
I am thinking about purchasing this one from Painless:

Any feedback will be appreciated!

No, but if I was going this route I would go with the Painless harness as those guys make good stuff from what I hear.

In the same boat. I went a bit low budget but the system I got seems good so far (VERY POOR KNOWLEDGE WAS INCLUDED). All checked out. Painless isn't so well known for no reason. They are more expensive but if its a plug and play harness and you can swing it. I'd go that route.

Was just in the garage looking at my 89. It has a single Weber 2v and can see no reason to keep all the factory extra (extra now anyway) wiring which no longer does anything. I have decided to do a homemade harness with just the necessary and nothing else. It is a $1400.00 gem that is in the process of a body off already. Also thinking of relocating the fuse box to a location that can be serviced while in the drivers seat.
