Hello all. I have a 1989 Wrangler YJ with 4.2 carbureted 2 bbl.Holley 166,000 miles. I have an issue where if I drive for any given period of time and turn it off, get out for say 30 minutes and try to start it, it cranks for the longest time. I run 89 octane normally but not really sure it that is... Thanks for any help.

Hard starting after a warm shutdown is a common problem with carbureted engines.
Here are a few things you might want to check:
Since you have a Holley carburetor, it's important to ensure that it's not vapor locking. Check the fuel lines to see if they are too close to hot engine components, which could lead to the fuel boiling off. Insulating the fuel lines might help.
Make sure the choke is functioning properly. If it's sticking or not opening completely, it could be causing starting issues when the engine is warm.
Check your ignition components such as the coil, spark plugs, and wires. A weak spark can cause issues, especially when the engine is hot. If any components look old or worn, consider replacing them.
While 89 octane should be fine, make sure you’re using fresh fuel. Stale or poor-quality fuel can contribute to starting issues.
Ensure that your carb's float level is set correctly. If it's too high, it could flood the carb when warm, making it hard to start.
If you haven't changed the fuel filter in a while, consider doing so. Also, if your YJ has a vapor separator, check that it's functioning properly.
