I acquired a 95' Jeep from my father in law that has been in the family since it was new. It has the 2.5L four banger but runs and drives really good. My father in law replaced the fuel pump, injectors, plugs, pcv ,wires, catalytic converter and a bunch of other things. However, it has a 4" body lift and 33" BF's on it. My question is that even thought this YJ has larger than stock tires, during my smog test I noticed the numbers were great until it was shifted into 3rd then the emissions numbers began to rise and then it failed. Would re gearing be a good idea or would it create other issues.
