I'm thinking about installing a factory tow bar on my YJ. Yes, I know there are better options available, but in germany everything is very difficult and bureaucratic. It's nearly impossible to street legalize a class 3 hitch. US receivers are some sort of devils stuff. Only hitches with european approval (CE conformity) are allowed. OEM hitches (frame mounted) are some sort of gray area, though. For the law they are no hitches, they are part of the frame.
Is there any technical information available for the factory hitch? Towing capacity, nose weight, ...
