I am replacing all of my front seatbelts and while I was removing my driver's side belt "boot" I found
an electrical wire attached to the belt. Does anyone know what this is and can it be removed / cut? I have
the new buckle in and the boot is just laying in the back seat for the time being. Thanks!

I believe that is a sensor switch that the belt is connected.
It may be able to be short circuited to stop the seat belt alarm.

The wiring to the seat belt is for the light on the dash. If the seat belt is not buckled, the seat belt light is grounded. As soon as you plug in the seat belt, it interrupts the ground circuit for the light and disables it. If you don’t have the buzzer in the dash anymore, you could just cut the seat belt wires and forget about it, they are not doing anything for you anymore.
