CEL on when driving

My ‘95 2.5L 5-speed has a CEL that comes on periodically when I am driving it. When I stop leave engine off for a while, the CEL goes away & it wont come on.
It seems to happen when I drive at higher speeds (50-60mph).
Anyone has ideas as to why?

Pull the codes and see what it is? Although the light goes on and off the code will show up in the ecm.
