Some type of door guard armor must have been on this Jeep - as you can see from the pictures. What would be the best product to use
to remove this stuff? Also, in the second picture, you can see the velcro attached to the dash. I pulled it off, but now hard sticky stuff
that needs to be removed - best product to use for that? I tried Goo Gone, but 1) it did not all come off and 2) i think it stained the dash where it was sprayed on.
*I tried Goo Gone on the door too.

Thanks!

I've always used acetone or nail polish remover but be careful it doesn't remove the color from the material.
Do a test spot.

That lower door strip is from the factory and I have no idea what that stuff is.

Goo gone, some heat from a heat gun, and a plastic razor blade will get all that off.

It took some time, but I took the factory stuff off my TJ and the results were totally worth it.

It looks great without the protective strip, nice and clean. I'm not careful at all about getting my feet over the edge and was wondering how to apply a new coat on the sill.

While you could find some clear bra to cut and apply there, it might be easier to just buy a sill gaurd that uses adhesive to secure it’s self to the door sill.

A friend had stainless steel ones on his CJ7, been thinking about going that route with mine.
