Backspacing Question for 31s

I just recently lifted my YJ, and now I'm looking to get bigger tires and new wheels to accommodate the lift. It's the 2.5L so only planning on running 31x10.5. My main question comes with the backspacing. I can get a pretty good deal on some method race wheels, but the backspacing is 3.5" with an offset of -24. Will this rub with anything, if so, what backspacing should I be looking for when running a 15x8 wheel with 31x10.5 tire?

3.5” and 8” rim is gonna stick out pretty far. Stock was 7” rim and 5.25”, so imagine about 2.75” stickout over stock.

Doubt you’ll have rubbing issues, although if you stuff the tires, they may want to hit the fender flares. When they’re at the factory backspacing, they tuck up under/behind the flare which works well.

Personally I’ve grown to really dislike aftermarket wheels so I am putting mine back to stock, mainly because it just works. If you’re doing the aftermarket rims, I’d try to find something with 4-4.5” backspacing and 7 or 8 inch wide to keep it less drastic of a change.

Thanks, glad I asked because I'm not a fan of too much poke either. May look into getting my current wheels powder coated instead and just wrapping the new 31's on after...

Honestly that would be a great plan. The only problem I’ve had with stock wheels is their availability in good shape. I just bought some brand new new old stock TJ wheels that I’m going to run. I just much prefer the stock proportions, but with a slightly larger tire.

You can run just about any OEM wheel with 31's. Ive ran the Jurasic park ones?? and stock steelies. I did this like Macho has done, offing my Tactic 15x8's because I got damn tired of mud, snow and rain water coming in my windows and if your doorless it sucks. I really no longer can grasp the idea of 15x10' and big tires hanging out unless you live in pop corn fart dry, never rain or snow country, and its a toy to pick and choose when you drive it.
