I found out that the PCV solenoid was involved in a recall in the 90's where supposedly the fix was to eliminate it and pipe straight through. I looked at my 4.2/ carbed and see that mine is still there. I was going to try to test it for resistance but found the pig tail plug mostly destroyed (see picture with blue arrows). I don't see any oil problems due to non-working pcv system so I'm a little reluctant to mess with it. I've got some kinks between the decel, carburetor and solenoid due to a very tight area so maybe a solenoid delete will gain me some space. Route sketches or ideas would be welcome!
If I do this, do I just let the harness plug hang and will the pcv system work differently with the solenoid gone. The recall info said the solenoids would usually die in the closed position which i believe would be a bad scenario. If anybody knows the hose ID's please chime in!
