I have an 87 yj with a v8 350 sbc. It generates a ton of heat, like surface of the sun heat. Anyway, it has a Holley electric fuel pump but when the engine gets hot it starts ticking very loudly. I have a Edlebrock carb, with a fuel return line. When the ticking gets loud, the jeep starts to act like vapor lock. I have to pour water over the main fuel line and then usually it roars to life. Big question is, is that fuel pump toast or do I need to start heat wrapping everything under the hood? I have heat taped the fuel lines already.
