BD-POWER 1030703 2LOW UNLOC for RAM trucks will work with the vacuum system and CAD on Jeep YJ. I installed several days ago in about 30 min. This gives selectable 2 wheel drive low gear with a flip of a switch. I have a lunch box locker up front and wanted to be able to switch off for sharp turns and it works great. I also still have one front wheel (driver side) power in 4 wheel drive with kit turned ondue to torq q locker. It is a poor mans selectable locker you can install in the driveway. No need to install Posi-Lok and alter factory CAD. The CAD on older Ram trucks is the identical system. I tested system this weekend and it worked great.

I recently saw a Wrangler pull a boat on a trailer up the boat ramp using a ball hitch on the front bumper. Made it super easy to maneuver the trailer. This kit would be great for using low gear on dry pavement.

Interesting! But do I really need it? How much?

Probably don't need it unless you have a need for 2WD Low on hard pavement. Part time 4WD like our YJ's on snow or dirt/mud is ok but on pavement is really not good for the transfer case and other driveline parts. Looks like the kit goes for $150.
Honestly, I got my YJ from a guy and it didn’t have a shifter attached to the transfer case. I took his word that there was nothing wrong with the t-case and bought it. Well it took two months and 3 shops and i finally got it working. It just seemed strange that I didn’t see a light for 4WD. Till I read your thread above, I didn’t know what to look for. I’ll just be happy, living in Florida, to just have everything working like stock. I can leave the heavier 4WD stuff to the 2020 Gladiator Rubicon for the trips out west.
