1993 Paint Options

I personally think either would be fine depending on whatever look your going for. But I would definitely stay away from the Bed liner option. My previous owner did that and it sucks. Also is going to be a royal pain to go back, and it IS going back to paint.
I've seen other vehicles done with bed liner, like a Chevy van, and it looked like Chit.
I don't get that...I mean Why?
I did bed line my floor pan, but just because the factory paint was too slippery.
I'm going to parrot what @ytradio said, it's a personal choice.
That being said, the clear coat will eventually "sunburn" and peel off.
I would lean toward a quality paint of your choice, satin or gloss and not bother with the clear coat.
Personally, I like the idea of a satin finish.
