Hi! I’m new to the group, thanks for the add! I just bought a 1990 YJ 4.2L manual. I love it!! However, I’ve already ran into a issue. When we took it in to get it inspected I decided to have them change the oil. It seems the last owner stripped the nipple on the oil filter adapter and they don’t make that part anymore. They make the ones for 1991 and later but not for mine. Has anyone else run into this issue and if so how did you resolve it?
Some quicky shop probably threaded on a SAE threaded filter and not the metcic threaded one it takes. Cant guarantee this but places like Summit racing or Jegs sell the threaded nipple for the filter. You will need to remove your first and see if its the same on either end. It looks like your year used a metric threaded nipple @ M20x 1.5 but you'll need to verify this.
