Thanks - the reverse lights are working correctly so its not that. I don't even know if they connect to the trans - they are routed along it so its anybodys guess

Hi All - total Jeep noob here trying to help my son who bought a semi-basket case 1989 2.5 manual Wrangler. We're trying to tidy up some of the wiring and noticed 2 wires that are pressed into the (manual) transmission case. The wires aren't connected to anything but their ends are exposed...
