Just one from quadratec. Installed like the guy on Jeep Solid channel on YT shows.

Looks like it was popular enough combo, they made it easy: https://www.quadratec.com/p/kentrol/hood-kit-tj-style-hood-catch-cj-wrangler-yj I had to piece my stuff together.

Hood kit for the stainless hardware or the graphics? Hardware most likely came from quadratec. I reused The original windshield rests as aftermarket stuff isn't a reproduction, but seems cobbled together. You can always dip the originals in some rubberized coating to refinish. The graphics came...

1987 Jeep Wrangler Islander With 67k Miles

Yeah, Islanders didn't happen till 88. Still a catchy Jeep. Mine isn't an actual Islander either. I just liked the Islanders. The early Wrangler theme were basically graphics packages.

Problem with my 89 carbureted YJ

I believe it's referred to by AMC as the CEC system. Uses a couple of temp sensors, an O2 sensor, a basic computer and some metering rods in the carb to adjust fuel air mix. The late CJs, the carbureted YJs, and AMC Eagles with the 258 had it.

What goes here on the windshield sides?

If you never plan on running half doors and soft uppers, then just weld them up. As others have stated, they are left over holes from the forward channel for soft upper doors to seal against. You can see where I added them on mine in my build thread once I swapped from hard top and full doors to...

Which automatic transmission should I put 1988 YJ?

They came with 32RH from factory if 4.0 and auto. I believe the earlier ones were called 999 autos. Pretty much the same thing. Mine has one. I prefer standard shift, but like others have mentioned, my left knee hates it now. Nothing blasphemous about driving an auto other than some people's...

    Voltage regulator failed

So, noticed a check engine light. Did the key cycle test. Got code 41. Was at a gas station, so I did a quickie check for obvious stuff. Checked fuses under hood and cable connections at alternator. Everything seemed fine. Filled up. Started Jeep. Charge went to 14 volts on gauge. Check engine...

Aftermarket diff cover options for stock height Dana 30

Ooo! That makes a good point. I seem to notice people who do actually trail use their rides are pretty hard core about good covers and RTV alone. Didn't think about the correlation. Yeah, technically, in general, both of my rigs are primarily pavement princesses, but the YJ is dedicated to that...

Aftermarket diff cover options for stock height Dana 30

That's similar to the dilemma I'm in. Do I really want the 'bling' factor. I think it is a very nice cover without the colorful 'bling' aspect. The $123 is a good deal compared to other nodular iron covers. The OX unit for the 20 was $180. But, I actually do off road the Wag and the factory...

Aftermarket diff cover options for stock height Dana 30

Hello all. Spring is here, and one thing I've yet to service on my awesome YJ is the axle fluids. I'm doing that now on my Wagoneer, and since it gets wheeled, I'm beefing the diff covers. One thing I noticed about aftermarket options are the drain plug options. I opted for the nodular iron OX...

YJ cranks but does not get spark

I mentioned that in my first comment. Didn't you check that already?

    1992 Jeep Wrangler Renegade

Not a fan of the seats, but the rest of that thing is fire. Even the aftermarket wheels don't detract from it. Showing it is in Michigan has me curious as to body and frame condition under those panels. Renegades could really hide rust issues easily.

    Interesting YJ Islander for sale

Yep. Too overbuilt, IMO. I get that technically, it's just a graphics package, but why ruin a nice one with Rust patch-er, "trail armor" and horrid mall crawler accessories? My daily, real life mall crawler sees more dirt than that thing does.

YJ cranks but does not get spark

Hmmm. According to this video: you don't want any reading between B and C terminals at all.

YJ cranks but does not get spark

Just watched a video. The person (DexJs channel) stated to have someone crank while you hold a hand on the ASD relay. You should feel the relay clicking if getting signal from CPS. Also seen others who stated most off the shelf CPS are junk and to only get the Mopar one. I have no experience...

YJ cranks but does not get spark

I'm unsure what a good reading should be. I take that the check engine light did illuminate when turning the key? Also checking that you did hear fuel pump/check for fuel pressure at the rail and swap a couple of relays.

Losing power randomly, spark plug wire issue

I had an issue like that. Thought the wire was seated, but it wasn't. This can allow an arc to the block. Now, I'd recommend checking to make sure the little connectors in the plug wires aren't stretched and loose, allowing the issue to happen. You should feel and hear a click when pushing the...

    1993 4.0 5-Speed, Cranks Strong, No Start

Does the check engine light illuminate at all when you first turn the key? Have you verified fuel pressure at the rail with a gauge?

    Rampage Complete Soft Top Kit

I have it. First time ever dealing with a Jeep and soft top. Installed on mine after I sold the hard top and full doors. Fitment is good, IMO. Again, I've never dealt with any other soft top Jeep before. My only complaint is the side panels sometimes want to pop off their hold down rail along...
