    1991 2.5 build "Fluffy"

Very nice. I realy like the storage you have in the back. I'd like to do something like that if I didn't need the space for the dog. Great Pyrenees take up a lot of room. I'm still running the d30/d35 that came with my rig. Trying not to break them.

    Drink holders

I like my Tuffy center console's cup holder and it is great to have a locking center console.

    First Jeep, ‘87 YJ value?

If it was near me on the east coast it looks like a good deal for the price. Jeeps are expensive around hear of late.

    Mystery Engine

Here is a link with some good pictures of the 2.5 that goes in the YJ. They are esentialy the same for the whole YJ run. The plate with the four holes is where the AC compressor bolts on if equipped with AC.

    Lost my rear drive shaft

That looks like what happened to mine. I ended up going with an SYE and a new Tom Woods shaft.

    Lock Box for the YJ

The Tuffy center security consols are nice. I used to have an add a trunk in back that I liked, but my dog is to big to fit with the back seat and the add a trunk. I'd rather have my dog in the jeep than the storage behind the seat.

Where do you like to ride?

Just noticed you have an auto so disconnect the front and back driveshafts from the differentials and tie them up with giant zip ties.

Where do you like to ride?

I flat tow mine. Transfer Case in neutral transmission in 5th or if you have a front locker or want to be extra safe disconnect the front and back driveshafts from the differentials and tie them up with giant zip ties. Steering wheel unlocked in both cases. My front shackles mount my tow bar.

Looking to run 40s or 37s! Setup advice.

BTW That Jeep looks like it is in great shape. My advice would be a cheap winch, 31s or 33s, re-gear appropriately for the tire size, selectable locker in the front and rear, 2.5 in spring lift, and a slip yoke eliminator. Can be done for $5k if you do most/all of the work.

Looking to run 40s or 37s! Setup advice.

I would think that 40s would come close to rubbing each other in the middle on a CJ5. Please post a picture of that.

Looking to run 40s or 37s! Setup advice.

It is a cool episode, but I see around $20k if not more to have a shop do what they did to that jeep and I'm low-balling. Everything past the transmission is replaced and there is a lot of fab work. That is 2.5 to 3 times my jeep's cost and I have a lot of fun in mine as it sits.

Dirt Every Day has an episode with their junk yard jeep built for 40s on YouTube.

WHY? J's (the YJ abomination thread)

Just to because I'm a good guy I'll let my YJ go for $18.5k, but only to board members. On a serious note YJs seem to be going for near 10k around here lately.

WHY? J's (the YJ abomination thread)

This guy because he wants $20k for a YJ with over 200k on the clock and his rock sliders are upside down. https://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/d/raleigh-1991-jeep-wrangler-renegade/7291394272.html Other than that nice looking jeep.

Where do you like to ride?

This makes me jealous of all of y'all who live out west. Most of the "trails" here on the east coast are parks. Driving over obsticals for the sake of it can be fun, but being able to get out and explore is more my speed. Posey's Trail: The old route through Comb Ridge before the highway - YouTube

95 YJ sway bar quick disconnects

I don't have a sway bar or the track bars on a 2.5" lift and I'm fine. Try driving without the disconnects and see if you notice the difference.

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

It looks like a body lift and a shackel lift with stock springs. That would be the cheapest way to fit big tires. It would ride like crap.

WHY? J's (the YJ abomination thread)

I HATE angry eyes on any Jeep.

Could synthetic oil be causing my oil leak?

Nope. The viscosity of 5W30 synthetic oil is the same as the viscosity of 5W30 non-synthetic oil. https://blog.amsoil.com/what-does-viscosity-mean-and-how-does-it-affect-your-engine/

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

My regeared 2.5 is OK for power and lots of fun on the trail. That said I'd hate to put it behind an auto. I'd skip that one. I thought the 91 six was the 4.2L.
