    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

thats what I run. OME 2.5" with 31's. A great look, a good ride. Its what all YJs should have come from the factory with.

    Driver side rear drooping

Really? I had an OME suspension lift installed with all new leaf springs last year and the rear does sit a bit higher. I just figured that was a characteristic of the kit. Do they eventually level out a bit, because I was thinking of a way to fix it.

    Looking for gas line replacement

After pulling my 95 out of winter storage last week I noticed it was leaking gas above the rear driver side wheel. Turned out to be a bad gas line. Now, my jeep is very clean underneath with very little rust anywhere. It just got old I guess. My problem is that the 2 lines going into and out...

Do all YJs have a particularly stiff / bouncy ride?

I also installed a 2.5" OME lift and witnessed a much better ride than original. Almost seems plush...

    2.5L upgrade...

I told you it was a dumb question. ;) Since I rarley ever do anything with my jeep other than drive it around town and to the beach, it looks like I may just keep the little 4 popper and regear for my 31's when the time comes. It would be nice to travel in the passing lane once in a while...

Need help with cost of painting Jeep

I didnt say anything about prepping the car, just removing anything you dont want painted. Theres no reason you cant take out the seats or remove the interior panels, or take out the headlights and tail lights and remove the rollbar covers, etc. At more than $100/hr labor cost, you can do that...

    93 YJlift

I love my 2 1/2" OME lift. Jeep drives like a dream.

    2.5L upgrade...

I assumed a tranny swap with a new engine, I was thinking more along the lines of all the other stuff. I imagine a larger radiator, heavier springs, sometimes a new rear end- things like that that may not need to be changed out. For instance Chevy makes a 200hp 2.5L and if you could make that...

    2.5L upgrade...

This may seem like a dumb question, but I'm just thinking outside the box for when someday my YJ needs a heart transplant. Why does no one ever try to install a hopped up 4cyl? With all the hi performance 4 bangers out there, it would seem that one could be adapted to fit. Chevy 350s and the...

Need help with cost of painting Jeep

I had MAACO paint a car of mine years ago and it looked great- for a while. Then it started to chip off and I could see how thin the paint was. IMO, I'd do what I could to save some labor/prep costs by removing everything that wasnt getting painted- trim, bezels, lights, door panels, etc. and...

Advice on protecting the tub from rust

I took out all the carpets and mats and removed my drain plugs. Keep your floors dry and clean after a ride and they should keep the rust at bay for a long time.

    Overheating 1995 YJ 2.5

Those temps still seek high to me. Shouldnt those motors run around 160? I know the factory gauges arent all that accurate, but I've never seen either of my jeeps go over 140. Longshot, but could you just have a pinched or blocked hose?

    95 4.0 YJ

That thing looks badass. Love it!

    Cleaning up the ‘89

So my interior is holding up pretty good with that paint. Still looks like new after a summer of use. I like how your hardtop came out, too. I got a pair of mirror similar to what you added. They start to turn in if I hit 55 or 60 MPH (not that that happens very often) even after repeated...

1990 Jeep Islander Build I need your opinion

I'm pretty sure the AC controls are located under the dashboard, to the left of the heater controls, looking like some aftermarket add-on. At least thats how it is in my '95. I have factory AC, but in my opinion, it all looks like an afterthought. Personally, its a jeep. Why would you ever...

    From Miami to Boston

Installed an OME 2 1/2" a few weeks ago. I cannot tell you how much this has improved the ride. It rides like a new JK. Up next are some side rails...

    Lift Feedback...

I was fortunate to be able to use all the stock shackles- and I presume the stock shackle bolts- with my kit. My installer even made a remark about how clean the undercarriage was and how easily everything came out and was reusable (benefits of buying a southern vehicle). The kit came with all...

    Lift Feedback...

So I've been reading lots here about people wanting to lift their jeep and looking for recommendations. I just had one installed so I thought I'd offer my experience. First, this would be my first "lifted" jeep, so I did a fair amount of research before buying my kit. Lots of posts here about...

    New to me 1988 YJ

I literally just installed an OME 2 1/2" lift on my '95 TODAY and cant believe the ride quality with 31's. It is awesome. I got that advice from this site and I'm glad I listened. It was more expensive and worth every penny.

Islander, Sahara, Rio Grande- Just sticker packages?

So if I understand this correctly, only the Rub offers any type of performance upgrade, all the rest were just different versions of trim packages. That's disappointing. You'd think that with all those versions, you'd get some added performance, not just different shades of lipstick. BTW...
