91 Jeep YJ - Cranks but No start - Have spark and have fuel at fuel rail

After you do the above, if it's still acting strange, you may have skipped a tooth on the timing chain. How many mi are on it?

New Cam, Timing Chain & Head. #1 No Compression

Pretty sure 4.0 is a non-interference engine, meaning the pistons and valves would never hit each other even if valves were stuck all the way open.

Intermittent no start: lost big time

Spark needs the crank sensor, PCM, coil, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor. Be sure the coil 2 wire connector is good, mine was shot and it would just cut off driving down the rd.

    TPS issues?

Ok, missed that you had a new IAC. Have you pulled up the shop manual for yours? I have only worked on the 6 cyl. Only things that come to mind are the IAC or a vacuum leak.

Jeep YJ will not start - HELP! I've tried everything!

Your fuel pump has a bad check valve since it's not holding pressure. Have you verified the spark since the no start? If you still have spark, dribble some gas or spray some starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it hits.

A few questions about my new 95 YJ

To put the 4.0 in, you'll need the AX-15 transmission. The AX-5 that comes with the 4 cyl won't survive behind the 6 cyl.

    YJ soft top in twill?

No twill for the YJ that I know of. I can get a sailcloth RAT for my '92 OEM frame, but that's the best one they have.
