    Extremely loud whining noise

My advice for new jeep owners is dig in and learn how to fix it cause it will break. Lots of infor here and lots of helpful owners around. If you have no interest in mechanical fixes abilities buy something else or have a lot of expendable income. Go to harbor Freight and buy one of their $12...

    Extremely loud whining noise

Sometimes a alternator is loaded and recharging the battery after start up the belt can slip making a screetching sound. Typically it only lasts a maybe 10- 15 seconds. Sounds like you might have a power steering pump issue.

    Extremely loud whining noise

Either the IAC, throttle cable/linkage or a worn and hanging up TB are potential causes of the high RPM problem. Hard to say on the whining noise. Is it coming from under the hood? Just the engine screaming at 3K rpm? A slipping belt due to a massive alt load, bad bearing on a W/P or power...

Question on buying my first Jeep

    Broken seat bolt and mount

IMO the tub is to thin to provide any strength when welded. My 91 had cracks and other issues and I drilled out the old bolt, used a plate under the tub and ran a 3/8 G5 bolt of appropriate length and snugged it down. If nothing else wear your seat belt and make sure they are secure as they...

95 2.5 Manual Shift Linkage Parts?

YJ's came with various trannies dependent on year and/or who molested it. AX5, AX15, BA10, or??? I found several folks, ebay,Allstate Gear who sell the entire shifter with the bushings which are nice to replace at the same time. Allstate gets $59 for the entire deal or hit a junk yard. Dont...

Oil and volt meter gauges don't work when headlights on

Been a while since my last YJ, a 91 and 95. You sure your not hearing a relay under the hood near the firewall? Both my YJ's had gremlins in the gauges. The 91 OP gauge would even read different after I added an ground to the cluster. Ive has some 12 jeeps, save the XJ's, the CJ's, YJ's and TJ's...

Oil and volt meter gauges don't work when headlights on

$5 says its a ground issue. Pull the gauges, clean the bulb sockets, dust off the mini bulbs and make a new ground if needed.

What would be a fair price for fixing this 1995 Wrangler with rusted frame?

New/used frame would easier. Cost? depends on what you can find.

That bumper saved your jeep. The Impy looks like the arse end of a honda civic I rear ended in my 95 XJ. I was pissed...it bent my lisc plate. :ROFLMAO:

    Vibration / shaking 70-75 mph

You could have a tire coming apart thats not obvious to look at, or badly out of balance. IIRC you said the steering wheel does not shake when at speeds? Any brake work done recently like new or different drums?

    Vibration / shaking 70-75 mph

How about we say vibration is one thing and shaking is another to help narrow things down. Vibration like a high speed buzz like a bad U joint or the need to drop the T case after lifting?? Shaking we'll say is what you get from a crappy balanced tire kinda thing.

    Vibration / shaking 70-75 mph

Dont replace whats not broke. 99% of todays parts are china junk and worst then what you removed.

    Vibration / shaking 70-75 mph

There's plenty it could be. Rear tires, wheel(s) packed with mud or out of balance, bent drive shaft, out of balance clutch assembly, bad/gone shackle bushings, to name some. No, shaking isnt a normal part of a YJ.

Can you add locks to YJ half doors?

Sorry your area has become a place where you feel as you do. Our local road has become a thru way for illegals here. There have been multiple cases of running the sheriff off the road, abandoning their vehicles and scattering like cockroaches into local properties. That being said, both the wife...

Getting my Jeep running again after sitting up for three years

That's about the size of it. Does it turn over? Why was it parked? Check the intake system for rat/mice nests for sure. If it wont run Id say start with a boogered fuel system. Id also change the oil as soon as you got it running.
