1987 YJ 4.2L EFI conversion with in tank pump suggestions?

Howell kit D452 for 87 to 91 4.2 wrangler's. On my smog monster 86? CJ you removed ALL the crap, nuttered it and away you went. Personally I like the frame mount pump better because when the cheap china crap dies you wont have to drop the tank in the middle of BFE.

    Steering Vibration

Mini death wobble of just a poorly balanced, old, junk or coming apart tire. A bent rim, one packed with mud in the back also. Remember a steering stabilizer is a bandaid to other problems. You should be able to drive at highway speeds without one at all and have no issues.

    Need advice on a Jeep

IMO most jeep/dodge/chrysler products have crap electrical systems. Purely my opinion which is far from Dorf's experiences, after 12 jeeps and working on a fleet of hemi cop cars. Common? no. See if " Painless" makes a wiring kit for it. My take on used vehicles that dont run is walk away unless...

    Safe for Yellow Metals GL-5

Look on either summit racing or jegs website for numerous Trans specific GL4 lubes. Like the guys said 10/30 syn is Ok also and worked great in my AX5 in my 91. The 80/90 made it literally impossible to shift when its real cold like in the single digits. Also if your jeep has a body lift verify...

Body mounts near bumper corners are missing

The bodies are pretty flimsy sheet metal and would likely crack when flexed if any welding was done. Id opt for drilling out the broken bolts and going thru the tub if anything else and running a big fender washer on top of the sheet metal.

Looking for advice on modifying my first Jeep

Buy a sports car. If you lowering it for handling reasons...er.well its a top heavy turd of a box. If its because its hard to get in and out of due to the body below the door invest in a plasma cutter and hack away. Try to find a bone stock YJ and look at how close the bump stops are to the axle...

    91 YJ won't start

Poland?? seriously? Love to see some pics of off roading there. There is 2 TDC's, one compression stroke and the other valve overlap during the intake/exhaust stroke. If the crank is off 180 degrees it will not fire up.

Jeep runs perfect, but only when cold

Lets say it goes into dying mode. If you can pull over immediately, have it out of gear, P brake off can you push it or if you are on the slightest grade will it freely roll? Point being brakes dragging. Far as choke being stuck on does it blubber black smoke or run horribly? does it idle ok...

How do i go about fixing a bad Ford 8.8

Theres plenty of exploders in the junk yards to take parts off. Pretty much jeepism, empty them pockets and bank account. At any rate that 8.8 is a bunch better than a D35 POS.

How do i go about fixing a bad Ford 8.8

Changing out the carrier and reusing your R&P will be the same as setting up any new or rebuilt diff, no plug and play.

Amazon and eBay flywheel / clutch combo experience?

I agree with Macho on the Luk. Put one in my 91 and it was as always impressed how well it worked and was made. The former China POS lasted 10K miles before the disc springs shattered. Personally Id pass on scamazons bootleg junk parts. Try Rockauto as they offer 2 different Luk kits. One DD kit...

    YJ 5.2 conversion transmission questions

Sheesh..I did that to my 71 landcruiser but it went 95% under. It sat under water for a day until we had a loader pull it out. Drained all the fluids, pulled the plugs and spun it over a bunch, put it back together and drove it home. Did the drain and refill several times and never had any issues...
