I acquired as decent set of TJ flares and am considering cutting the rear wheel wells ro fit them. I know this has been done plenty but with yjs apparently loosing a bit of popularity, I am having a hard time finding a decent writeup. My inclination is to scoot them back as far as possible...

I believe those boomerang shackles are installed backwards. I don't think that's your problem, mostly just an fyi.

The squealing was still there (driver side btw) I think I figured it out this time. The dust shield was rubbing, probably from crawling over logs and other stoopid stuff I do. I bent it back and secured it with a stainless tie wrap, that should hold it in place until I smash it again

Not as bad as some of the pics I've seen, but it definitely had divots. Also had some badly worn pads and overheated rotors I welded and ground the ears as smooth as I could, and assembled the brakes using the Black Magic pads and some Dutalast-Gold rotors with "higher carbon content" I...

I got an engine skid plate from UCF today. It sure looks beefy, if it fits as well as the other skid plate, I think I'll be very happy with it. Paint it Purdy before I scratch it all up😉

Never heard of needing special insurance or problems registering rebuilt vehicles. I'm not doubting you, I just never heard of it. We have a vehicle with a rebuilt title, only issue is resale value, which is fine because we got it cheap enough. It's a nice rig.
