Cant go wrong with UCF. They have very nice stuff and you wont be dissatisfied. Aluminum all the way, IMO. The only other brand I would consider is Genright.

Looking to run 40s or 37s! Setup advice.

The only shop I know of in Cali is WFO Concepts in Auburn, CA. They could absolutley build a SOAYJ on 40’s and get you the axles you need under it as well. WFO is prob about 7 hours away from you, but would be my go-to for something like this.

Looking to run 40s or 37s! Setup advice.

You’ll need one ton axles, or something equivalent, to support that tire size as well as much more wheelbase. With leafs, 37’s or 38’s would be a good goal to shoot for. I was going this same exact route up until a month ago or so. 37’s-40’s on leafs. I was going to keep the gas tank under the...

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

Sure, it’s an SUV. Ever seen a bone stock YJ? They sit low on their and I would never be concerned about rolling over through a turn or on some trail. Although I do wish I knew their belly height. That said, you arnt going on any fun or challenging trails with a stock YJ.

A YJ with an LS on Coilovers & Spidertrax Axles

Spidertrax does amazing work to say the least. Their axles and axle housings are works of art.

How can I tell if my YJ has a lift?

Just a spring with more arc (lift). Or a set of spacers between the body and the frame. Or custom fabricated suspension that uses coil over or air shocks.

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

I dont think there is enough metal there to remove it and re-coat it. There are option to cut it all out and weld in replacement metal. https://www.autorust.com/safe-t-cap-kits/ A frame swap would be the most expensive way to resolve it. Buying the frame, shipping the frame, and then paying...

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

The coating is ideally applied before the rust, not after. Once rust is set in, it’s likey to continue eating it’s way through. If the tub andninteriornis really nice, buy it and swap it for a frame from South of Tenn or from out west like SoCal.

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

Having had both and after driving a 6 cylinder, I can tell you that you would absolutley hate a 4 cylinder. They have no power. If you're never going to lift it and are going to keep the small factory sized tires on it, go for it. But any plans for a lift and bigger tires and I would stay away...

Thoughts and opinions on potential 91 YJ purchase

It’s been very much neglected. The frame and tranfercase skid plate, where they meet, it not looking hot. That’s where I would investigate that area more.

Check the body mounts at the frame. Those would be a nightmare to replace.
