    New to me YJ

And dont forget gears. if you’re running a 2.5L, forget 33’s, stick with 31’s and some lower gears in the diffs. If youre running a 4.0L, regearing is going to make those 33’s so much more enjoyable on the road and off the road.

A YJ with an LS on Coilovers & Spidertrax Axles

Making some progress on the axles, delivered my front Spidertrax axle to my axle builder. As mentioned, he will be cutting it down to 79 Ford F350 spec. So driver side drop with a long driver side tube and Reid’s super kingpins with a double sheer steering setup. The 4.3:1 Atlas ships from...

    Body Swap, could I put a 1988 body onto a 1993 frame?

Make sure you go to the DMV or an attorney, preferably first and sort out the VIN issue to make it compliant with your states laws. The VIN is located in 4 different places in regards to YJ’s. The Frame: n top of the rear crossmember. Under the Radiator Support: A tag with the VIN stamped...

To clear 33’s, you want to shoot for 4” of total lift. To keep your lift low, your ride a little more plush, and your wallet a little heavier, I would highly suggest 2.5” suspension lift combined with a 1- 1.25” body lift. This allows for softer springs which should result in a softer ride...

    Rust Repair

It could be sufficient. But it could provide some “insurance,” if you used new sheet metal.

What vehicles are good donors for a 93 YJ front and rear Dana 44 swap?

The waggoneer Dana 44 may be worth a look. However, are you on factory springs that are mounted under the axle or has it been converted to over the axle? ECGS can build you one and keep it reasonably priced.

    YJ transfer case re-gear

Re gearing will get the power you lost when you went up in tire size. Even for around town, it can make a difference. But alas, ignorance is bliss.

Looking for a tailgate hinge upgrade

If you “upgrade” to TJ tailgate hinges, make you also get the tailgate hinge backing plates from said TJ. There are a couple manufactures that offer true billet aluminum TJ tailgate hinges. Never done it personally. But it can be done. TJ tailgate hinges also allow the elimination of the tire...

    First Jeep, ‘87 YJ value?

Id say its not a bad deal. How does the frame look? Jeep frames are notorious for having rust issues depending on location. Be sure to drive it a few miles with the wife. With factory shock or even some cheaper branded aftermarket shocks the ride can be very rough. The leaf spring...

A YJ with an LS on Coilovers & Spidertrax Axles

I hate mud. Although, mud comes with the territory when wheeling in the south east. I’ll mainly be looking for rocks

A YJ with an LS on Coilovers & Spidertrax Axles

Well I’m also building with the idea and plan of spending more time wheeling than working on it. It may take a little longer, build wise, but should be worth it. Plus, I want to be able to hit any trail that is built for 40’s without worries.
