It is defiantly oily and cruddy on the front side of the transmission when I look at it from the engine bay.

I'd rather find a gen 1 Bronco. But I am sure those are rare and cost a good penny as well.

I would believe it is the the lift that is causing that. What kind of lift do you have? Do you have a dropped pitman arm?
