EU wire harness to US tail light

Exactly what are you wanting to do? 1: Switch out your EU setup and totally convert to the US? (I'd check with local laws before committing to this) 2: Keep the EU setup, but can only find US taillights? (if you are having trouble finding export taillights with amber signals, quadratec has them)

    Help with windshield frame hinges

For me, I heated the bolts directly. Not really a way to heat the block inside the frame. Now, the heat can scorch paint pretty easily, so the hinges may need some touch up. I kinda held the heat on each bolt for just a couple seconds, and repeated. Very long will start to blister the paint, so...

Oh, and on your new frame, put some anti-seize on those bolts before installing.

    Help with windshield frame hinges

Negative. There is a flat plate that is threaded for the bolts and allows for proper alignment. Nothing to deal with like the lower side of the hinges. Thus, why I stated worst case, just drill the heads off and be done. (y)

    Help with windshield frame hinges

What I did was use a small bottle of mapp gas and heat the bolts up. Let them cool. Do it again. The extreme cycling of temps helps 'shock' the rust in a way it can actually crack. Then, I started using my battery impact on it. Just a small burst. Keep shocking it. May have to keep repeating the...

'93 YJ won't start / battery good / no crank / dash has power

Glad you got it sorted! Yeah, wiring can be interesting. They can show voltage, but be corroded enough internally to cause resistance issues with amperage flow. If you haven't, go ahead and replace your negative cable when you get the first chance. It will most likely be almost as bad...

'93 YJ won't start / battery good / no crank / dash has power

I'm not a fan of just throwing parts at it without checking. Did you verify the 40A fuse in the relay box was good? The big cable to starter will have battery power all the time. You gotta figure why the small trigger wire isn't sending. Do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key...

'93 YJ won't start / battery good / no crank / dash has power

I'm not up on the Wrangler starters, but you may put the Jeep in neutral with wheels chocked and try to jump the solenoid (if possible) to further test and see if the starter is good or not. I'd do a search and see if that's a thing. I've also had auto parts stores tell me a battery is good, but...

'93 YJ won't start / battery good / no crank / dash has power

Okay, I'll give a shot at this. Someone else may be more helpful. You didn't mention engine, but looking at the schematics, under the hood, there should be a 40 amp fuse (F4) that looks to give power to the ignition switch. I'd verify it is good. Start simple. Then check and see if the...

    Islander Editions Interior

All the ones I've seen were gray with blue piping as well. Looking at some wet Okele covers with a similar pattern for my build since that combo is now unobtanium it seems as far as anything replacement wise.

To vent, or not to vent?

No, no no, you're confusing that with stickers. They add 15hp.

Carpet definitely is the easy solution for a bit of insulation and sound deadening. I wanted a true 'hose me down' interior, so I opted for durabak. If I have the top down and it comes one of those famous 5 minute 'southern humidity showers', I can throw a plastic bag on the seat and drive.

To vent, or not to vent?

Yep. I was taking the term 'vented' as cross drilled. But yeah most, if not all rotors are technically vented, meaning there is a section between the the pad contact areas that is hollowed out to allow for cooling. Plenty of other items a Jeep enthusiast can waste their $$$ on. Like ducks...

Yeah, that is what took so long for me. Finding a solid enough candidate to start with. I wanted relatively low miles for the age, minimal rust, and the I-6 with auto (which was the most difficult part). I like a standard transmission, but my left knee is going bad, so clutch work hurts now.

Just read through your thread this morning. Very nice job! Love that you're going for the lightly modified open air cruiser theme. I went a similar route. I'm rocking 30x9.50s on stock height springs with 1" body mount lift and it looks nice. I'm not going to be doing anything serious, so...

To vent, or not to vent?

Stopping power comes from surface area. And holes=less surface area. To put it short, I had a built 2000 T/A WS6 that was made for handling. I was told by people who autocrossed the platform to avoid vented or slotted rotors and keep it simple. Purchase good quality blanks (rotors) and spend...

And after a month of gassing off, I finally got to put the final touches on it. Ever since I was about 8 years old, I remember seeing a couple of the Islander package Wranglers and thinking they were the coolest, Miami Vice looking, things around. Now, I'm getting my own. Found the...
