    Is 4K a fair price?

This is exactly why I no longer let shops work on my stuff. The 'labor' costs have gotten outrageous. My thought is this: They don't want to work on it, but will work on it if you're dumb enough to pay what they quote. Had a reputable shop look at my 2000 WS6 for a top end noise. Quote was...

    Help with windshield frame hinges

I bought mine from Quadratec. Can't remember the brand. Just got one with good reviews. Fit fine. Have to pull the windshield to the roll bar with long bolts, then switch to short bolts. Be careful to not run the long bolts through the windshield frame. Just use them to pull the frame close...

    Help with windshield frame hinges

I used a 1/4" drive impact with the appropriate star bits on the roll bar connections. They should come out easy. If nothing else, drilling out that one bolt is a non issue since you're replacing the frame. Glad to see it's working out well for you.

    Just confirming this will work

Does the 04 have an electronic controlled transmission? If so, you're potentially opening a real can of worms. Also, this would probably get more traction on the TJ side of the Forum

I want to get rid of the Vacuum actuated Dana 30...

Just a note on this bit. I have stock height springs on the front and have the CAD locked in. No vibration issues at all (I've had it up to 65ish), so this may be more of an issue for lifted rides.

Looking for advice on modifying my first Jeep

What Gilaguy said about the stock height. Here is my Jeep on new stock springs. It has a 1" body lift. Looks beefy doesn't it? The axles sit on top of the springs, so the bump stops are closer than you'd think. They are a direct evolution of the CJ line. They were already lowered for stability...

New member, 92 YJ Islander RHD (and a couple pics of the other stuff)

A small update. So, I have Holley Retrobright LEDs in my Wagoneer and love them. They look like sealed beams, but perform with modern technology. They've been in for over a year and have already saved me from nailing a brainless deer, just walking down the middle of the road one night. So, I...

Thank you! I'm not much on plain condiment colors (red, yellow, and white). So, if I'm going to have that color, I have to spice it up a bit.

    Transfer Case Rear Seal Install

I did a quick search on Rockauto. That part number is listed as the FRONT output seal, which makes sense given the image above showing the pvc tool driving it into the front output location. It also specs the bore as being 2.447" which is just a tad over 62mm. The seal they list for the REAR...

    Body mount replacement 1995 YJ

This is a solid solution. I like that you just folded it back for the surgery and tacked it back down once finished.

Any performance advice for 2.5 4-cylinder?

Personally, I like having a 4.0 in a Wrangler, but having ran LS vehicles for almost 15 years, you won't be disappointed with that 5.3 in anything. There's a reason my Wagoneer now has a gen 3 truck motor in it. I'd wager you get better fuel economy than the 4.0 as well. I'd recommend gearing...

    Advice on Leveling a YJ

Stock front springs from Crown on both ends cause you can only get 'Heavy duty" rear springs and they have too much spring rate for the ride I wanted. I'm sure this helped the rear sit a bit more level. Stock length shackles. These are coupled with a 1" body mount lift. Sitting on 30" tires...

    Body mount replacement 1995 YJ

Did you try penetrating lube several days in a row and let it soak first? Also a good bottle of MAPP gas can be helpful. There are several youtube videos of the process. But yes, as a last resort, you can use a hole saw bit and cut holes if needed. Would have to carefully measure to locate the...

Any performance advice for 2.5 4-cylinder?

I'd advise using a gear ratio calculator like this one: http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html Plug in your original tire size and ratio on the one side, than you can play with your new ratio and new tire size on the other side. You at least want to match your revs with the new setup. Keep in...

Any performance advice for 2.5 4-cylinder?

The 4.0 isn't exactly a modern powerhouse either. But that may be my street friendly 3.07s and the slushbox auto

Any performance advice for 2.5 4-cylinder?

Honestly, axle gearing is most likely going to be the best bang for the buck. Gear it lower and it'll accelerate faster. If you're just driving local and on trails, this will make you the most ROI for what you're looking for. Going to (possibly) lose some top end, but from what I've read about...

95 YJ half door lock cylinders

A little vague on the query. A model year would help us. ;) What are you exactly trying to do? Match as in keyed the same? If so, just buy a new set and take to a lock smith for keying to your existing key. Match as in half door style vs full door style? Technically, the full door and half...

Where can I find a transmission dipstick and tube for a 1995 Wrangler Sahara 4.0 32RH?

Lemme guess. You told them 95 Wrangler? Of course they said nothing they had would work. Chrysler changed the nomenclature of the A999 to 32RH and the 904 became the 30RH. The 904 is a lighter duty version of the 999. The cases are the same. So, if the cases are the same, that means the...

Where can I find a transmission dipstick and tube for a 1995 Wrangler Sahara 4.0 32RH?

Hmmm. 32RH is basically the TF999. And I thought 904 and 999 torqueflight transmissions were pretty similar. Would a tube for the 904 not work...
