I have the 88 2.5l 4cyl with the same canister and the hole at the bottom has never been tubed up. I believe it's a drainage / airflow hole, nothing more.

Hi, Ok, A to B switched on gave 11.9 volts. Socket B1 to 2B read 0.20 switched on. A to B cranking gave 9.9v B1 to 2B gave .20v cranking. Is that any help?? Thanks.

Ok, with the key in on notch two but not starting up, I've tested the current coming in on the coil module connector and it's 12v on the A1 pin. Plugged it into the module and tested the positive terminal on the module itself and its 12v. I think that's a good thing? Seems like current is...

Yep it came with these tyres and I have no history of any diff gear changes since 2001 when the UK records began. It was abroad for 13 years before that so it's anyone's guess as to what happened in those days haha.

Interesting conversation. I have a 1989 2.5 4cyl on BF KO2s as it's a Jurassic Park Jeep. Are you saying that my sluggish little buddy is because of the tyres and if I dropped down sizes the acceleration, consumption and ride quality might improve. As well as make it a bit faster??

Hi, I traced it to a crap, fused rear right brake cable which had been sneakily covered up by a PO. Totally not moving so essentially useless. Despite passing govt MOT months before..... I stripped it, cleaned it, got the cable free inside and refit. It was much better and braked more evenly but...
