How do you unplug the idiot light panel on dashboard?

On my 91 the little bulbs burned out or were corroded at the base. Might try cleaning or replacing the bulbs before swapping the entire thing out.

89 YJ sputtering through intake and no power after new motor (2.5, manual transmission)

You need to talk with the engine shop or seller and tell them what you've found. They might deny warranty if you screw with it to much. Hate to say it but you may also have a damaged camshaft as well. I feel for you man. Last vehicle Id own if I was financially limited is a jeep. Its frustrating...

95 YJ grinding noise (2WD to 4HI while moving)

2wd to 4wd hi ONLY while moving up to 55mph or something like that. DO NOT try to shift onto low 4x4 unless your barely moving, like 1mph, and preferably stopped completely.

89 YJ sputtering through intake and no power after new motor (2.5, manual transmission)

IMO you'd have to have one huge vac leak to cause what you describe. Also typically the idle speed would be quite a bit higher with a vac leak. I have to admit Im not that familiar with the 87 thru 90 as Ive avoided them purposely for various reasons. Have you tried pulling any codes yet?

89 YJ sputtering through intake and no power after new motor (2.5, manual transmission)

Have you double checked all the connections you undid when you swapped engines? Pop the dist cap off and see how much play is in the shaft. Just for chits and giggles in the absolute dark of the night fire it up with the hood open and look for spark arching across the plug wires. A few more...

Is the miss an even miss like in a couple cylinders are not firing? Or is it random sputter?

    Hard to start

Odd, however when you disco'ed the battery the ECM may have dumped its "adaptive memory" and needs to relearn. Regardless it should have started normally.

1987 YJ 4.2L EFI conversion with in tank pump suggestions?

Howell kit D452 for 87 to 91 4.2 wrangler's. On my smog monster 86? CJ you removed ALL the crap, nuttered it and away you went. Personally I like the frame mount pump better because when the cheap china crap dies you wont have to drop the tank in the middle of BFE.

    Steering Vibration

Mini death wobble of just a poorly balanced, old, junk or coming apart tire. A bent rim, one packed with mud in the back also. Remember a steering stabilizer is a bandaid to other problems. You should be able to drive at highway speeds without one at all and have no issues.

    Need advice on a Jeep

IMO most jeep/dodge/chrysler products have crap electrical systems. Purely my opinion which is far from Dorf's experiences, after 12 jeeps and working on a fleet of hemi cop cars. Common? no. See if " Painless" makes a wiring kit for it. My take on used vehicles that dont run is walk away unless...

    Safe for Yellow Metals GL-5

Look on either summit racing or jegs website for numerous Trans specific GL4 lubes. Like the guys said 10/30 syn is Ok also and worked great in my AX5 in my 91. The 80/90 made it literally impossible to shift when its real cold like in the single digits. Also if your jeep has a body lift verify...

Body mounts near bumper corners are missing

The bodies are pretty flimsy sheet metal and would likely crack when flexed if any welding was done. Id opt for drilling out the broken bolts and going thru the tub if anything else and running a big fender washer on top of the sheet metal.

    Spring Over Lift

    35's with a D35? that's a good place to start being concerned.

Looking for advice on modifying my first Jeep

Buy a sports car. If you lowering it for handling reasons...er.well its a top heavy turd of a box. If its because its hard to get in and out of due to the body below the door invest in a plasma cutter and hack away. Try to find a bone stock YJ and look at how close the bump stops are to the axle...

    91 YJ won't start

Poland?? seriously? Love to see some pics of off roading there. There is 2 TDC's, one compression stroke and the other valve overlap during the intake/exhaust stroke. If the crank is off 180 degrees it will not fire up.

Any performance advice for 2.5 4-cylinder?

I had to laught at your post. My 75 FJ40 with engine mods got smoked by my buddies naturally aspirated VW rabbit diesel.

Jeep runs perfect, but only when cold

Lets say it goes into dying mode. If you can pull over immediately, have it out of gear, P brake off can you push it or if you are on the slightest grade will it freely roll? Point being brakes dragging. Far as choke being stuck on does it blubber black smoke or run horribly? does it idle ok...

How do i go about fixing a bad Ford 8.8

Theres plenty of exploders in the junk yards to take parts off. Pretty much jeepism, empty them pockets and bank account. At any rate that 8.8 is a bunch better than a D35 POS.
