    95 4.0 with 42re flexplate

Same with the 727 and 518s. Became the 36RH and 46RH. Just a name change to a code system. Number of forward gears/Strength/Layout/Shift Control 999=3 forward gears, strength of 2 (made for lower power motors), (R)ear wheel drive layout, (H)ydraulic controlled.

    95 4.0 with 42re flexplate

Found this on the Jeepforum concerning a 32RH(999) to AW4 swap: "AW4 flex plate ( yes it is different than the 32RH flex-plate. the hold down bolts and spacer is reusable from the 32RH flex-plate.)" Looks like you may need the proper flex plate for the transmission if you keep the 32RH.

    95 4.0 with 42re flexplate

The transmission should bolt up no issues. Not sure about the flex plate to torque converter. My next question is this: If you have the complete XJ vehicle, why not use the 4.0 and AW4 as is? EFI is so much nicer as far as startup and go in colder weather. If everything works, then just swap...

    95 4.0 with 42re flexplate

Okay. Something's off. A Cherokee as in XJ? Those only had AW4 autos behind the 4.0. A GRAND Cherokee (ZJ) came with the 42RE

    WTB: Factory YJ wheels

The Illuminati, ran by the Lizard people.... Not joking, though. The moment I saved a listing with an image showing the Gamblers that was really far away in case nothing popped up closer, they started showing after a couple of days. Old ads with the same wording I had already been...

    WTB: Factory YJ wheels

Man, that is a beautiful Jeep. I looked for a few months on Fakebook Marketflakes til I found a set that I was looking for. I wanted Gamblers for mine. Finally scored a well kept complete set, plus picked up a single wheel with a tire in great shape for a spare. My advice is just be patient and...

    4.0 exhaust header replacement

Yeah, I'm probably gonna buy the complete downstream exhaust kit myself, but use the Banks Header. I also plan on adding a flex coupling in the head pipe as I put it together. I had to do the same on my Grand Wagoneer due to vibrations cracking the Y pipe. Dunno, I do like the way the Flowmaster...

    4.0 exhaust header replacement

Well, looks like I'm not the only person who thought about a braided flex section of exhaust installed in the head pipe combined with a quality part for long term durability. This guy even spring loaded the collector to head pipe bolts so they can move around some. According to the comments, he...

    4.0 exhaust header replacement

Yeah, all the Revolver reviews except that one I mentioned say they're great and have held up longer than the replacement version. The only threads I can find are from about 2014ish saying people were beginning to try them. The naysayers are the ones claiming they'll crack because of no flex...

    4.0 exhaust header replacement

Hearing the dreaded 'pft-pft-pft' noise from the floorboards. Figuring I'm most likely dealing with a cracked exhaust manifold (header). When I tackle it, I will probably replace the entire system while I'm at it. Reading very mixed reviews of replacement headers. Seeing everything from Banks...

    Ring Pattern Dana 30

To me, they don't look too bad. Pretty centered from edge of tooth to bottom of gear cut. Even double checking on the Yukon site, seems to say they look okay. https://www.yukongear.com/blogs/how-to-create-read-ring-gear-patterns_1

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

On those interior handles, how did they fit? I've read some people had issues on certain brands with the little plastic rod retainers being incorrect.

    Goofy Question about Axles

Hmmm. The fronts are coil spring, so not direct bolt in at all. Pretty sure the fronts are all D30. The rears are leaf sprung, but would depend if they're spring over or under. If spring over (I'd wager they are, but I'm not a XJ fanatic), then again, no. The YJ is spring under F/R, so I'd...

New member, 92 YJ Islander RHD (and a couple pics of the other stuff)

About a month ago, I scored another item I had been searching for to complete the look I am going for on this ride. Took the Wagoneer on a mini road trip half way across the state and snagged a set of 4 Gambler wheels in really good shape for $100. Also noticed a single gambler with a 30"...

Should I get a hard top or a soft top?

Here is a good install video that shows everything

Should I get a hard top or a soft top?

Bought the entire kit from Quadratec. I sold my full doors and hard top, and purchased half doors, so needed everything to convert. It was a bit over $800. However, it is the square upper half door style. They also offer one for full steel doors at a bit cheaper price. About $750 (Just checked)...

New Here - Drive a 1989 YJ Sahara

Hey, I'm a visual person as well. Youtube university helps a lot. Now, what will be important is making sure you can adapt that pump to your sending unit. Well, it WILL work, but you may have to get creative. The big issue will be tank depth vs overall length of sending unit + fuel pump...

Should I get a hard top or a soft top?

Any YJ soft top is cumbersome compared to the "convertible" aspect of the TJ. I bought a Rampage top since I wanted a gray top (they were the only ones who had it) to round out the correct Islander look. From what I can find (my 1st YJ, so may be wrong), it has a setup like the factory. Many...

New Here - Drive a 1989 YJ Sahara

Um. Nope. look again at what you linked. It states: Position : Front 2 Pump System Requires In-Tank & In-Line Pump Front tank. As I stated in my 1st comment, this is a 2 pump system. It requires a low pressure in tank pump to feed a high pressure in line pump on the frame. Now, click on that...

New Here - Drive a 1989 YJ Sahara

Eh, no. Look up a Carter P74067. (in tank pump for 85 F250 w/302 efi-you'll also want the sock filter that attaches to the bottom.) You'll have to remove your sending unit in the fuel tank to fab it up. You want 100% push with electric pumps. Those cheapie external jobs never last long...
