Had the same problem, Replaced the distributor and that straightened it right out.

I recommend using this stiction eliminator for deep cleaning the innards of your 2.5...I used it on my '94 4.0 and it worked very well. Has micro lubing additive as well. Just dump the whole quart in.

Check your dome light fuse #5.....It controls the following.....ECM, Fuel Pump, Main Shut down relay and something else really important...... It took me three months and alot of wasted effort to find that one.......Don't take my word for it.............

A trick an old gear head taught me.....Valve grinding compound....The courser the better. Squirt it into the torx head and then get the bit as deep as possible and twist it out. It's never failed me...Works on everything, Bolt heads, Phillips and flathead screws......

If you do alot of off road.....Stay away from that.....

Swapped from a 2.5 to a 4.0....Not for the faint of heart, Fixing to buy a turn key 327 Chevy because the 4.0 just isn't enough..... Will post pics when we start.....

I have put two fuel pumps into my YJ....And both had to be "Crammed" In And then reapply the bolts from front to back to get it to seat into the the gasket... It's running fine but, I'm thinking that the return discharge "Cone" Is rammed into the bottom of the tank and it's back feeding causing...

Take it off and "Hull" It out.....That way if you have an inspection it looks as though you have a operational converter in place..... If you want to spend the bucks on a good replacement, I recommend these guys......Excellent quality and good warranty...

OK....Get into a garage or an encloser that can do total darkness....Fire it up with the hood open and look for any arcs... I have found dozens of misfires that way.....
