Hey everyone,

I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ with a 2.5 L engine.

I’ve seen people upgrade to the 4.0 throttle body to try to get more power out of the engine. I’ve also seen aftermarket upgrades at 62 mm. I’m sure that it doesn’t help much if you don’t bore out the main intake hole on the intake. But other than that is it just a direct swap or do you need to change out other things such as sensors or anything else to make this happen?

Has anyone on here done this upgrade?

Seems to be the way with any 2.5 mod, exhaust, intake, chips, etc. best thing is to regear if them tires is to big. . Everyone says swap in a LS or 4.0 but thats not gonna happen for most of us.

The only real way to get any extra power out of a 2.5 is by swapping the engine. An unrealistic mod would be supercharging or turbocharging them, which has been done, but is not worth it for the effort in my opinion. Headers and multi-port fuel injectors give a few more horsepower, which doesn't go unnoticed in the 2.5 especially.
