Knocking AX-5 transmission

My 1990 jeep wrangler YJ has an AX-5 transmission in it.
The transmission is nocking in every gear but 4th.
Does anyone know why this is happening???
 
Im no transmission expert but Im gonna guess it has something to do with 4th being a 1 to 1 gear or "direct drive" for lack of a better term. A chipped tooth off a gear could make a knock,knock noise.

Well I found this when I drained the fluid.

I’d guess that piece fell off the input gear or counter gear, being those gears are not really in play when in 4th. I’d buy a reman trans from rockauto or similar.
