Hi I have an 88YJ 4.2 L six cylinder five speed manual transmission, but I noticed a small oil leak on the bottom of the pan right below the oil plug. Does anyone recommend a particular type of additive to stop the leak?

welcome to forum. maybe you need a new gasket on oil drain plug, no additive will help if it coming from drain plug or maybe you need new gasket on oil pan?

Wipe down the oil pan with degreaser or alcohol until it's clean and dry. Go for a short drive and check again for leaks and it's origin. I've seen leaks start at the front of the engine and oil blow back to the very end. It may even be from up higher like the valve cover or timing cover.
