New low speed vibration

A couple weeks ago, I noticed a low speed ( 15mph or less) vibration. The shifter moves pretty far during the vibration. Odd thing is, above 15 and up to about 65MPH, it does not vibrate. Whilst crawling around under the Jeep, I noticed what looks to be a missing bolt in the skid plate. The perimeter bolts are all there. The missing bolt is off to one side. Looks like a washer was used, due to the no dirt/rust where a washer would be. Washer size looks to be bigger than 3/4". Both bolts for the transmission mount are there, but is there another bolt that the xfer case bolts to the skid plate? I don't have pics yet, just wondering if anyone has heard or seen such a thing.

Thanks,
Tim

Some photos would help, when you get a chance for them.

To answer your question, yes, from factory there are the two studs and nuts for the transmission mount to skid plate, and then there is a stud known as the torque arm stud that helps limit drivetrain rotation under load. It has some bushings that are installed loosely to limit the maximum movement of the transmission mount bracket. It is more of a limit strap, and good engine and trans mounts in good shape shouldn’t really need the torque arm.

If it helps, TJs no longer had the torque arm, instead they had a 4-bolt transmission mount.

Ok, the torque arm stud is no longer with us. I cant say for sure the trans mount is good, but all the fasteners are still there. Any idea where to find the torque arm stud? No joy at Rock Auto or Crown

You can pick up the Transmission insulator stud at Amazon, Extreme Terrain, etc. I picked it up from Amazon along with the new grommets. All you need is the two large washers to finish it out. I was unable to find those anywhere when I was looking online to replace it on my old Jeep. On my current Sahara I have, it was in much better shape so I retained the OEM washers and used the new grommets I had previously purchased. You can source the two large/thick washers to make it work.
