ETA: ‘95 YJ with Dana 35 rear end

I recently went through a similar thing. The seal on the transfer case extension was leaking, and when I discovered it there was almost no fluid left in the transfer case. After some swearing, we got to replacing the seal... but it was still leaking and there was still a noise. So we got another...

At least you have a trashed out AC TO replace! I just have an empty space under the hood for a compressor... 🤣 So far the only big expense for us has been repairing the fallout from a failed seal where the pinion yoke goes in the rear differential. Junk got in there and destroyed the bearings...

We lucked out when we found our ‘95 YJ. Super clean. It took a long time to find it! Not perfect, but what 25 year old vehicle is???

Make sure you have enough and healthy fluid in the transfer case. OEM is ATF, but you can use 5w30 also.
