    1995 Sahara project

I haven't had much to update as the Jeep has been running great and I've just been driving it. When I bought this Sahara, the previous owner included all the OEM carpet. It was all piled in the back with some other miscellaneous parts. At the time I had no intention of using the carpet so I...

1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0 (Manual) – Exhaust Recommendations

I have a 4.0 with a Banks header, JBA mid pipe (TJ style) and a Walker stainless muffler. You can see what I did in my build thread regarding the exhaust. Since I live in FL, I decided not to install a cat and just ran a straight section from the mid pipe to the muffler (would be easy to swap...

    Engine and transmission opinions

I picked up a new AX-15 from Novak when I swapped my YJ from auto to manual and I have no regrets on the purchase. I decided I wanted to have one thing that I knew for sure, was in good operating condition when I rebuilt the Jeep and did the swap. They were great to deal with and my Jeep shifts...

How hot should my heater be?

YJ's are known for having nuclear heat lol. Mine sure does. On cold days (cold for central FL), I can run the heat with no top or anything and it keeps my feet plenty warm. That being said, I completely rebuilt my cooling system when I rebuilt this Jeep after I bought it. I cleaned out ALL the...

    70 mph winds here today

Quick disconnects are the way to go for the sway bar IMO. I drive my YJ on the road a lot around town, so I like having the sway bar in tact but adding quick disconnects, it's easy to do just that when you want to play off road.

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

I had the same issue when I did my RMS. I took my time when I did it and was very thorough. It stayed dry for probably 2 months or so? Then I started to see moisture in the area and a tiny little droplet. It never leaves any drops on my garage floor and I keep an eye on it. It's been this way...

    Trac Bars

I have a 2.5" lift and have removed both track bars without issue. I kept the front sway bar (with quick disconnects) as I do drive my YJ on the road often.

Code 27: injector circuit malfunction (what would you do?)

I had a similar issue with my 95. I went through the whole Jeep when I bough it, pulled the engine, etc. I swapped out the OEM injectors that were nasty with rotted o-rings for a new set of K-suspension 4 hole injectors during the rebuild. It ran great for a month or so and then I began to have...

    Rear taillight won't go off

Have you looked at the brake switch up above the pedal? I had a switch that was starting to go bad and it was doing something similar. Flickering and sometimes keeping one or both lights lit. The plunger was getting sticky and wouldn't release quickly when the pedal was released. It's easy to...

Wrangler YJ 1995 Sahara - Back to full stock

Due to the Jurassic Park Jeep replicas that many people have built, the OEM Sahara fogs are damn near impossible to find. I too have a 95 Sahara in the same color. When I rebuilt it, I kept all the original parts in case I decide to return it to stock down the road, like you are doing. I have...

    Center Console Radio Slot

My YJ came with a dead Pioneer CD player from probably 15 years ago. I swapped in a JVC Marine blue tooth receiver (KD-X38MBS) that I have been happy with. It's about half the depth of the old CD receivers and just streams from my phone (which is what I do in all my vehicles anyway). Good sound...

    4WD indicator light

The switch that is located on top of the CAD on the front axle could be bad. That is an easy check though as you only have to remove the switch and the push the ball in with your finger and see if the dash indicator lights up. That is a relatively easy thing to check first before digging deeper...

Too Many Cranks On Startup? 1992 YJ 4.0L

My YJ had terribly corroded battery cables. I noticed the ground strap from cylinder head to firewall was hanging on by a thread and the block ground looked terrible as well. I had already planned to go through it all to avoid chasing down gremlins after the rebuild I was planning. I ordered the...

Theft Prevention for Jeep YJ - What Do You Use?

I installed a hidden kill switch when I did the auto to manual transmission swap. Doing the swap, I had to make a few wiring changes, one of which was grounding the Park/Neutral wire that allows the vehicle to start when the auto trans is in those two positions. Instead of just grounding it with...

    YJ Manual Transmission Question

My current 95 YJ I can't really count as I installed a brand new AX-15 in it and have run MT-90 since day one. It shifts very smooth and easily. Compared to some performance cars I've had with short throw shifters, it's a lot easier lol. Machoheadgames mentioned the shift boot. In my previous...
