I’m not sure what you mean by the clutch went out. Your hydraulic release system broke or what? The clutch has nothing to do electronically with anything else so it’s a coincidence of some sort, if anything.
Sure thing. Here is one https://www.allstategear.com/AX5-Snap-Ring-Retainer-p/AX5SRR.htm?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=798690414&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1_7vuonclAMV1CvUAR3cCiBxEAQYASABEgJnwvD_BwE
I believe you still need to fix the snap ring properly, and then need to add this on behind it.
The snap ring pops out because of too much load on 5th gear. This comes from large tires that put the transmission under extra stress which pushes on the clip and pops it out.
If you are still running the same gear and tire setup as you were when it came apart, you probably ought to fix that...
It’s any of them that look like this and say “with air conditioning.”

I had Old Man Emu shocks for my lift and I loved the way they rode. Very soft and comfortable. I went back to stock height and used Bilsteins. I don’t like them. Very stiff. I’m planning on going back to OME eventually. Even if they are a tiny bit long for stock height, they’ll be fine. I want...
Factory console for 91-95 is held in with 4 sheet metal/self tapping style bolts. The holes would be on the rearward portion of the transmission tunnel hump. Maybe someone covered over them with something, but bolts were definitely there at some point on a 95. Not sure how the 87-90 console...
That’s a good point. I have driven my YJ so infrequently lately and am so used to my truck that I forget reverse is on that side and had that lockout lol.
5th and reverse are likely separate issues. 5th commonly slides out of place on the AX5 because it’s held in place with a cheap snap ring that eventually gives up under torque. Large tires with stock gears exacerbate that condition. I doubt anybody has that issue on stock size tires. Anywho...
