Decent air filter for the 4.0?

    I've used AC or Fram.

What are these lines going to the valve cover on 95 YJ?

From the air intake to valve cover: fresh air inlet for the CCV system.

1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0 (Manual) – Exhaust Recommendations

Borla quit making headers, so you'll have to find another brand. It's been on there over 20 years, so I don't really remember if it felt different. IIRC, the factory pipe went down to 2 in or less under the trans.

1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0 (Manual) – Exhaust Recommendations

The biggest choke point is the crossover pipe under the transmission if you still have the OEM one. YJs were rated 10 HP less than Cherokees due to this. My Borla header included a full size cross over pipe.

    What oil should I use?

10w-30, 5w-30, 5w-40, 10w-40 etc will be fine. I run 0w-40 M1 Euro in mine. A 40w will have more ZDDP for the cam than a 30 as the EPA limits it in 30W and below to save the cats...

    Probably the oil rings.

    Burning oil

It's probably the valve seals if it smokes mostly at hot idle, but not driving down the rd. Mine doesn't smoke at all on the rd, but if it's hot and I just let it idle for several minutes, you can see some smoke. Also, if it smokes briefly immediately on start up, as that is oil that ran down...

    Burning oil

Possibly. If you don't have just one oily plug, hard to know.

    Burning oil

No, the valves are closed on compression. The valve stem seals are just rubber and prevent oil from leaking down the stems. My 92 needs them replaced, they are original. Can smell oil burning at idle (high vacuum), when the oil is hot and thin.

    Burning oil

Could also be the valve stem oil seals.

94 Jeep YJ Check Engine Light Issues

Check the fuel pressure. But when my pump was weak, it was like hitting a rev limiter when running through the gears. I'm thinking plugged cat.

1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0 (Manual) – Exhaust Recommendations

Turbo mufflers are similar to factory, but are built with less internal resistance. Usually shorter paths, larger tubes, more places for pressure to shortcut the path. Dynomax: The Banks is a straight through design. You can look through it.

1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0 (Manual) – Exhaust Recommendations

I've had the Dynomax Super Turbo on my 92 forever. It's not stainless, so maybe not the best for IL. With the soft top, 3.55s, and 30s, you can hear the exh up until the point the wind noise takes over. :ROFLMAO: Mellow low tone at idle. Great burble on decel. I've got a stainless Banks...

    What is this?

    Fuel pressure regulator leaking gas.
