Looking to replace my oil pan gasket on. 89’ YJ. I would like to use the Fel Pro one piece blue gasket? I have seen the used on a TJ 2.5, but when I search for an 89’ can’t find the gasket ? Anyone know if I can use the Fel Pro one piece gasket? Or recommend a good one?

I'm a straight up Fel-Pro Blue Dude........Have never had a failure....Tip, If you use RTV and I recommend Black....
Let it completely cure out for a week if you have the time.....

Fel-Pro Blue all the way!
Used them many, many times and my experience is the same as T-Rex, never a leak (unless it was my fault).

Hello, do you perhaps have the exact part number for the mentioned Fel‑Pro gasket?
I couldn’t find a matching one on Fel‑Pro’s website. I’m desperately searching for a suitable rubber gasket for my 1989 2.5 L engine with engine code 53005532. Many thanks!

there is one list on fel-pro web #OS30476C, but the way it listed, it might be a up grade, napa, autozone etc, has cork type.

according to crown auto, wrangler 2.5 from 83-2002 use the same oil pan gasket that you are looking for, crown part # 4713021. quadratec also sell same gasket. it is a one piece gasket.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve already tried using the gasket from Crown Automotive 4713021, but unfortunately it didn’t fit properly in the rear section — it was too long. What’s strange is that Crown lists this part number for vehicles from 1983–2002, while Mopar only lists it for vehicles from 1991–1996. I’ll see how I proceed from here...

i located another gasket on PARTS GEEK, crown gasket # 2315-0331904. it list wrangler that it fits.

Same here. When I purchased my YJ four years ago, one of the first things I did was change all the fluids and fixed a valve cover leak with the Blue Fel-Pro, it's been fine ever since.

Thank you for the tip about PartsGeek — it does indeed seem that they have oil pan gaskets from Fel-Pro (W0133-2400995) and Mahle (W0133-1679215).
What’s annoying, though, is that they don’t ship to Europe.
What I also don’t understand is why the Fel-Pro gasket isn’t listed on their website when using the parts finder?
If I were sure that the Fel-Pro gasket fits 100%, I would get it through friends in the USA.

thank you for follow-up. do you think that you could sent a message to Fel-Pro and see if they still make the gasket, may be just a mistake that they dont list.

Thank you for your help. I received a reply from Fel-Pro today — apparently, I do need to order the multi-piece oil pan gasket set “Fel-Pro OS30476C,” otherwise I can’t make any further progress here...

GOOD DEAL, i grad you got it fixed. thanks for keeping forum informed.
Sorry, I can’t take care of the Jeep at the moment. I have a few other important tasks right now. I’ll make a second attempt next week. Specifically, I want to combine my not-perfectly-fitting Crown Automotive 4713021 gasket with the curved section of the Fel-Pro OS30476C. I’ll see how it looks, and once I get that far, I’ll let you know for sure. Have a great weekend.
Here’s another picture of the section that doesn’t fit.

Good morning, I’m checking in again. I was able to install both parts of the gasket “as far as I can judge at the moment” — yes, I’ve got another issue going on: the engine won’t start. I’ve already tested quite a few things, but today I need to take a closer look at the fuel pump since it’s been causing problems anyway.
In any case, I managed to fit the gasket parts successfully and bolt on the oil pan. With a bit of patience, the installation turned out to be pretty straightforward:
  • I cleanly trimmed off the overly long section and cut it flat enough so that the two parts (the curved piece from the 4-piece set and the rest of the gasket) fit together with as few gaps as possible.
  • I glued both parts to the engine block using RTV and smoothed out any excess.
  • Let it cure overnight.
  • The next day, I applied a bit more RTV at the joints between the two gasket sections.
  • And the following morning, I bolted the oil pan back on.
Here are a few pictures of the process. As mentioned, for now it looks like everything is sealed, though of course I can’t make a final judgment yet…

Wishing everyone a successful wrenching weekend!
