I have a Rugged Ridge center console that accepts a single din radio, curious what radios you installed, and how they sound. I bunch of carplay models pop up on Amazon, but reviews are so back and forth, not sure how much value any of them really have. May just put one in the dash spot and put a mobile GMRS in the console spot. Thanks

My YJ came with a dead Pioneer CD player from probably 15 years ago. I swapped in a JVC Marine blue tooth receiver (KD-X38MBS) that I have been happy with. It's about half the depth of the old CD receivers and just streams from my phone (which is what I do in all my vehicles anyway). Good sound and it's marine rated so I figured it would be a good fit for an old Jeep that I don't own a full top for.

I started out looking on Amazon at a bunch of brands I had never heard of and saw those same reviews, which made me skeptical. I found this one on sale at that time from Crutchfield for I think it was $129. It's paired well with the Polk audio speakers that I put in the dash and above in the speaker bar. It also has a removable face plate which I don't use often but it's a nice option to have as well.

Thanks for the info. Hadn't looked at Crutchfield yet. I had bought one from Amazon that had carplay, and only a few crap reviews compared to good ones, but the screen was a 1/4 inch too tall to fit in the Rugged Ridge console, so sending it back. The Carplay models on Crutchfield look like they all have the single din body, but a tall screen. Won't work on the console at all. Looks like I'll just have to settle for a regular receiver with SiriusXM and no Carplay. I don't have doors or a top on my YJ, so I need to be able to keep it secured, so won't be in the dash.
