I am looking at buying a soft top for my 95 YJ with full steel doors. Bestop Supertop Classic kit in Spice is about right, but specs say it is vinyl (18-23lb) material versus the twill/sailcloth material that is supposed to be better quality. Called Bestop and phone rep didn't have any good answers on how to make this happen - basically said that YJ owners don't want better quality tops. Seems like there is a denim top replacement for OEM frame, but no full kit options for YJ other than the vinyl top. Bestop also promotes the fact that their twill tops come with 40mil windows vs 30mil on the vinyl tops, so that is another reason to prefer twill if available.

Does anyone know of a YJ top & frame combo with heavy duty material (twill/sailcloth)?

Any other good brand options out there for quality tops?

Kinda messed up that the Best Top rep would assume that YJ owners don't want a better quality top...I guess we're just a bunch of jack-wagons...

Bestop, hands down. No one does it better when it comes to quality, fit, and finish.

Does Bestop make a YJ version of the twill top?

If so, there is no substitute. Bestop is the best and there is a reason they are the OEM supplier to Mopar.

You get what you pay for, trust me.

I do understand how he got to that theory. How many nice YJ’s do you see out there? I very rarely see any. Ones that I do see break my neck.
Parts thrown at most of the YJ’s I see are cheap and total crap.

I have a similar question but approach from a different perspective. I am part of the problem, it seems. I am just looking for something cheap to go on top of my jeep. I don’t need windows or anything. Just keep the rain off driver and passenger
