I have a 95 yj with the 2.5 4 cylinder and 5 speed trans. After installing a 1200lbs winch and mounting plate from harbor freight, there is a noticeable difference in power and steering in the jeep. The winch and mounting plate probably weighs close to a 100lbs together. The winch does have the steel cable on it. Do you think replacing the wire with rope would make much of a difference? The Jeep currently has 189000 miles on it with 31 10.50 tires on it.
