19887 YJ with a 2-21/2" Lift & 35" tires. Seal on steering gear box leaking. Do I need to go with a gearbox for the lift and big tires ?

I see some are advertised for lifts and large tires ?

the pitman arm is not the same. off the bottom of the box.
the box is frame mounted so if you do lifts (not body lift)
the box moves higher. that in turn makes the DRAG link TOO steep, and problematic, so special pitman arms made to match lift distance.

is this power steering, if yes make sure the leak on top of pitman (seal) or from the hoses and pipes to it. first.
some fails are easy fixes. so look closely./

watch out for ads (sales hype) saying new box is for lifts and is not at all. (liars)
the arms are sold in offsets

mine has the 4" drop pitman.
the boxes are sold for LHD and RHD and power and manual steering
the PITman is separate,
the power steering arm is not the same as the manual.
the factory arm , power is. 52040112 (usa, not UK)
a google search shows 15million hits
only used boxes , seen are with pitman attached, (deadjeep.com a wrecker)<<< and is mother bear to pull, lacking expensive tool for pit.
SO I call HYPE.

A 2.5" lift is nothing special, 35's and a D35...good luck. Fix the leak or replace the box if its shot and with a 2.5 lift dont waste money on a drop pitman.
