Rev limiter shutdown

So, the other day, I was in my Jeep, and it got stuck. I started rocking it back and forth and got it going again. Unfortunately, I got stuck again because I lost my momentum. Why did this happen? Because the Jeep shut off. That's right, I barely hit the rev limiter and my YJ shut down. I have the 2.5 liter. If anyone has advice on how to shut this feature off, please let me know.

A rev limiter will do just that, cut off the engine at the set RPM. Ive never had a limiter literally shut down the engine to where it had to be restarted.

what rpm is the rev limiter set at? I have never hit it on my jeep
