Ok, here we go! Long one!
A few weeks ago my 1993 2.5L died as I was turning into a parking lot. After that I had a crank no start issue. While I was waiting for someone to come get me I posted the issue on a couple of sites. There were, of course, several things it could be but I bought a cps just in case. When I went back I tried swapping relays as someone had suggested, it started and it has been running just fine since. Yesterday it happened again except this time I was on the freeway. Ugh! When the first time happened I had driven a couple of miles, shut it off for probably an hour+, then drove maybe a mile when it died. Yesterday I had driven about 10+ miles and was coming back when it died. The first time it barely had a chance to get warm and yesterday it obviously got to running temp for a while so I don't think it's heat related. BUT, it had sat for a while the first time (so maybe relays weren't the problem) when it started and this morning after sitting all night it started. The only thing I can think of that was sort of the same was slowing down to turn into the parking lot the first time and was in stop and go traffic yesterday on the freeway and was going slow when it died. I checked fuel pressure and it was fine. So, thoughts, guesses, pulled out of a hat etc is welcomed! TIA!

sound like maybe a coil problem. what kind of a spark are you getting?

I'm not sure when it died I didn't have a spark tester with me,which has changed. Ha! Unfortunately it's running again just fine so I guess I'll need to wait until it does it again unless you know of anything I can test while it's running good? Ugh!
