Is my clutch going bad?

I have 95 Rio Grande 2.5 .....Driving around town , Smell clutch getting hot , head for home , clutch slipping , then quits pulling .
Had to call AAA for a tow . Any ideas other than replace clutch assembly? Thanks

It's either your clutch or your master / slave cylinder.

A little update , I added some brake fluid to the reservoir and it went down immediately.
I pumped the clutch and it did seem to be more firm , but when I crank the engine , I can shift the transmission to any gear including reverse without using the clutch ......?

Hate to say it, but it sounds like the diaphragm spring in the pressure plate is gone.
They will die almost immediately if the clutch gets too hot, which it sounds like yours did.
