I am looking to either use the block from a 90 YJ 4.2 carb in a 94 4.0 YJ or do a complete motor swap. Besides ithe pilot bushing issue, what else I am likely to run into with either option?

Not sure, but I’ve also seen people who take they’re 4.0 intake off, and all the goodies that come with it and swap on the 4.2 intake and carb setup instead. You’d just also have to install a mechanical fuel pump, probably on the fender or something to make it work. Decent option if you’re full of electrical gremlins
