While installing a lift kit on my 1990 YJ I found these tubes hanging as seen in the picture except the green one which snapped as soon as I tried to plug in the other 2. Tried to trace them back and they are so brittle that every time I touch them they break. They appear to go back under the cab area above the transfer case. I'm not much of a mechanic and this is my first jeep (a retirement project) can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

That is the device (vacuum operated motor) that engages your front axle when you put it in 4x4. The lines get vacuum off the engine and there is a switch on top of the T case that sends vac where it needs to go to make 4x4 work. If you want 4wd you have to fix that. There is also the option of a cable operated engagement kit, installing a 1 piece axle or some guys shim the fork over to keep the front diff engaged always. Look in the sticky or "how to" section under CAD delete and you find everything you'll need to know.
