Connector to fuel pump assembly

A couple of fuel pumps burned out in my 1992 YJ over the course of a month and right now it looks like my local shop bent the ground pin in the connector when they fixed it the first time and never found that when I brought it back for a warranty repair. The second pump they put in lasted almost a whole afternoon :ROFLMAO:

I replaced the burnt out pump myself and now I'm looking to repair or replace the bent pin in the connector in the photos below. I'm having trouble identifying the connector so I'm not sure what to buy or even how to de-pin it for repair.

It's the male end of the connector that attaches the underbody wiring harness to the fuel pump assembly. I know the connectors are still made because you can buy fuel pump assemblies that have connectors that attach to the original wiring harness! If at all possible, I want to keep the OEM connector for simplicity down the road and because the harness is in good shape except for the one bent pin. I've been searching the forums, googling, even flipping through pages of connectors on sites that sell them and I can't seem to find the exact match.

Any help getting an ID would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the other end from the new fuel tank assembly:

Unavailable as far as I've found. Just do a 3 wire weatherpack male and female connector and call it done.

Oh! And if using a repop sending unit assembly, replace that stupid short rubber hose that connects the pump to pickup tube with fuel rated submersible stuff. Otherwise, you'll end up stranded somewhere.

Thanks. I guess I'll go ahead and get new connectors so I can finish the job.

And I did get an assembly, but then I replaced the fuel pump and the little hose at the same time so I should be OK. Unless Delphi cheaped out on the hose that came with the pump. I appreciate the tip!

Update: I got a reply from Connector ID that confirms it's unavailable. Posting here in case it helps someone else.

The connector in your photos used to be a connector made by a connector known as Cardell, which Molex acquired back in 1999. This connector and terminal are no longer being produced, as most connector companies have only run the tool for 20 years. I checked with all of our Aisan sources, and no one has cloned it because the design is so old.

Sorry, we couldn’t help. If you can change the male and female, you might consider replacing this system with something readily available. In the early 2000s, Jeep standardized around the APEX 2.8 mm connection system. The male and female can be found here if you’re interested and you can order the pin separately based on the wire size you need.
